اتهامات التخريب مقابل فشل التنفيذ

في محاولة لاحتواء الأزمة، اتهم ترمب عبر منصة تروث سوشيال من وصفهم بـالمخربين بالمسؤولية عن الأضرار، مشيراً إلى وجود شق بطول 250 قدماً في البطانة الجديدة وإلقاء مواد كيميائية في المياه. وأكد بدء أعمال إصلاح عاجلة، مدافعاً عن تكلفة المشروع مقارنة بمشاريع سابقة، ومشدداً على تطبيق القانون ضد الموقوفين.

تصاعدت حدة الانتقادات من نواب ديمقراطيين، حيث وصف النائب تيد ليو المشروع بأنه فشل ذريع، متهماً الإدارة بمنح عقود بدون مناقصة لـعمال حمام سباحة هواة. بينما انتقد السيناتور آدم شيف إهدار أموال دافعي الضرائب على دهان سيئ، وأشار النائب روبرت غارسيا والسيناتورة إيمي كلوبوشار إلى أن هذه التكاليف تعكس سوء ترتيب للأولويات في وقت يعاني فيه الأمريكيون من غلاء المعيشة.
