The worlds oldest shipwreck discovered off Türkiyes Mediterranean coast! ?? Archaeologists have recovered 4,700-year-old amphorae from a shipwreck near Kekova Island in Antalya, described by Türkiyes Ministry of Culture and Tourism as the oldest shipwreck ever discovered. The findings point to ancient maritime trade connections linking the Jordan Valley, Egypt, Troy and Crete nearly five millennia ago. One unusual amphora also raises the possibility that ancient sailors made cheese or butter aboard their vessels.

The oldest shipwreck in the world has just been found. Just off the shore of Kekova Island in Antalya, Turkey. It is believed to be nearly 5,000 years old. Not much of the wooden structure remains, but three large stone anchors were found, as well as more than 30 ceramic storage pots, called amphorae. And this finding raises an interesting question… 1/2
